why is the government not mandating the use of electric lawn mowers and electric snow blowers?
the do not use gas for them and it is cleaner for the environment.
they seem to be mandating the use of everthing else but the use of these two thing

Why should they? They do enough of that.
Just because it doesn't use gas doesn't mean its clean. There is a pretty good chance the electricity came from a coal power plant.
Electric snow blower? Water and electricity make a poor combination.
Our government does enough mandating.
government doesn't really give a rat's rump about the enviroment. I do agree ith you, Zero Emisions technology is the way to go. however, Zero Emissions tehnology would take away the profit from oil industry. Petro Can just recently announced making $1.08 billion dollars for the first quarter for this year. all you have to do is look at the price of gas at the pumps.

The problem is that the government is full of people who think that there's "one best way" to do things and that they are the only people qualified to decide what that is. Fortunately they haven't gotten around to this, but when they do you can be certain that the "one best way" they choose will have nothing to do with what is practical and will be determined solely by which lobbyists managed to get their attention.
But they use up electricity, so a cost benefit analysis would be in ordered. Perhaps human power would be greener, and help people get exercise
It takes coal or oil to produce electricity, so either way you're still using energy. I have 5 acres, there's no way that I could used an electric lawn mower.
The electricity has to come from somewhere, and that somewhere is usually the burning of fossil fuels, so it isn't much better in the end.
Because the "Government" doesn't have the authority to do. Tell ya what, when the "Government" ride their bikes, walks or drives their electric golf carts to work then perhap we'll allow them to tell us we must use electric lawmowers or snowblowers.
