What is wrong with my ariens snowblower?
It sat for a few years indoors..started this winter, but engine kicked up by itself periodically and spit out fire. ..changed out the carberator. Now it idles rough with choke closed, but on next setting it races and spots fire again. There is no inbetween.
UPDATE: thanks for the reply. As for the gas, there was a leak in the feul line when I first started it, that I fixed. I'm sure by now all the old gas has been burned through or drained out. It ran okay for a few hours at first. ...The spark plug is new... I'm not sure where the air filter is located though.
I'll give the carburator adjustment a try.
I used it again today though and had a lot of trouble with it killing on me. Hopefully this will fix it.
Drain out ALL the old gas,including the gas line.Replace gas,start engine.Using a flat tip screwdriver close the screw on the carburetor,then turn the screw 1-1/2 turns counter clock wise.While engine running make the fine adjustments using the same screw.I’d check the spark plug for "fouling" and the air filter.Good Luck.D
