toro snowblower carb question 3h.p.?
I was testing a toro snowblower outside. customer said he thinks it is a carb problem. It starts great, has spark and will throw snow. Compression is about 75 psi. The only problem that I had is after about a few seconds of snow plowing the engine would die out. I ordered a carb rebuild, also a spark plug and fuel filter change. I believe that the carb is putting out enough as long as you do not plow for too long. I believe the carb needs a revbuild, am I correct. The engine starts great.

sounds like you’re on the right track, but you could also make sure the fuel tank cap is allowing air into the tank as fuel is used up. if it’s not you get a vapor lock situation which will cause the same symptoms.
A dirty carb will give you a lean fuel/air mixture. That will cause a lack of power, which sounds like what is happening. I would start by cleaning and rebuilding the carburetor and checking the rest of the fuel system for dirt/water etc.
Toro 3 hp??? 2 stroke?? if so stop!! 75 lbs compression is too low should be min 100 people need to learn how to mix gas!!!!!!!!!
