i suppose youre not worried about traction or anything like that, but i do know that the highway dept. around here will leave a little snow on the road if an ice storm is approaching.but to save on the auger and shear pins in the blower i would shovel first then deal with the ice when its done coming
I just heard a weather man say that it’s easier to get rid of the ice, if you leave alittle layer of snow underneath. That way when you go to remove it, there’s a softer cushion on the underside that will move easier.
If it was me I would get rid of as much snow as possible. Heavy snow, and /or ice can tear up a blower real quick.
I agree, get rid of as much as you can, before the ice comes… It will be much easier.
