How do you get a wheel off a MTD snow blower?

My snow blower has a flat tire, It takes a 1/2" socket , but when I turn it both wheels turn . I tried holding them still but can not break the bolt lose . Is there something I am not doing ?

    Put a wrench or socket of the same size on each wheel bolt, turn and hold the other. Both will be loosened. Reverse to tighten the wheels back on.
