How come by snow blower will only run with choke all the way on?

I have a snow blower and it will only run when the choke is on full. What do I do to fix it?

ok well first to start to see if there is a hole in the intake which there probaly is not t you can simply take some carb / choke cleaner and while the motor is running spray the intake and the carb and if you have a leak the motor will sputter or shut off that way you no if you have a leak
the next is simply the air filter is clogged and it is starving for air so it needs more fuel you can try these hope this helps

Well considering that the choke "richens" the air/fuel mixture, I would assume that it is running too lean.

it prob has a leak in the intake manifold. I am not sure as to which blower you have though. It could also have a bad fuel line, with a crack or hole in it somewhere.

Also check the gas cap on the tank. It may be blocked and not letting the gas into the carburetor. With the unit running, loosen the cap 1/2 turn and see if that makes any difference.

although all of the above answers are great answers, something else you should do. Remove the carb. and disassemble completly and install a new carb. kit. Be sure to replace the welch plugs (very important) seal the welch plugs with woman’s nail polish, or aviation permatex sealant. Make sure you have fresh fuel and fuel line are in good shape, and along with all the other responses you should be in good shape.

I had the same problem, and whenever my machine doesn’t seem to run right here is a fix you can perform. It’s a little tricky because of the float and needle valve, but I’ll describe it best I can. take a coffee can or some other item put it in front of he blower and stand the blower up so that the handles point straight in the air. Do this with only a small amount of gas left in the tank or it will leak. loosen the nut on the bottom of the carburetor bowl (Small silver bowl) take out the entire brass shaft. Look at it closely there will be a tiny pin hole in it at the bottom of the threads clean this with a pin and reassemble. seat the valve by turning it in and then back it off 1 and 1/4 turns. It will then run great. If this sounds to complicated take it in and watch the tech do it. Once you see it done you will be able to clean it out whenever you need to.
