For the same price should I buy a John Deere 345 or a Wheel Horse 520xi?

They are both 99's and the both have 500 hours on them and 52 or 54 inch decks. I have to cut 2 1/2 acres of grass and buy a snow blower as my driveway is almost 400 feet. Any opinions would be appreciated. Also does ,000 sound reasonable?

They are equally good machines. Find out about availability of snowblowers for tractors that old. Then look at the overall condition of each one. Which brand has a better dealer near you? Then decide which is the better choice for you.

I have no experience with a Wheel Horse, but the one Deere that I used in the past was a piece of crap. It was very slow and broke down a lot. I don't remember the model number but it was a rider and had something like a 42" deck out front. It would have been an early 90's model.

Also, yes, the price seems reasonable for a mower of that many hours. Here's a '98 for $3700: http://www.machinefinder.com/ww/en-US/machine/584771
