Electric Snow Blower – safe?

I would like to buy my husband a snow blower and was looking at a "Snow Joe" but it is electric?! Is this safe to be outside snowblowing with an "electric" gadget? This SCARES me!!! HELP!!! Wouldnt gas be better??!

    They are insulated against shock, but you need to do your part also, which means only using a good heavy duty extension cord that is properly grounded. Properly grounded also applies to the outlet you plug the cord into.
